Noise Reduction.
While I only seemed to noice about 1 S unit of reduction (and not sure of that) it can't hurt to
work on it!   I am using aluminum tape.  I SHOULD be using copper foil tape with a conductive
adhesive if I was doing it properly but didn't want to spend the big chunk of money on a roll of that
stuff when I can get this for about $6. at the hardware store.

I'll do some noise comparisons later!

Here is the stuff I'm using, bought it at Home Depot I think in the plumbing or roofing section.

On more modern cars they have done away with the distributor cap and put the coils right on top of the spark plugs!  Weird huh?  Anyway I'm going to wrap these up.

And there we have it.  I don't know how well the tape and adhesive grounds to the aluminum but it must to some degree since my noise level didn't go UP! hi hi :)
Update:  11/22/2005
Well in retrospect I can't say as I really noticed a big improvement from the above addtions.

I DID however find the real sources of my two biggest noises!  The number one obvious noise was coming from the in-tank fuel pump!  I wound up pulling up the carpet in the back of the SUV and cutting a hole right over the fuel pump so I could solder a capacitor across the + and - leads.  This knocked out LOADS of noise!

My other big fix was something that I had jsut overlooked!  I had already strapped the doors to the body and the hood to the body and such but I had (for some STRANGE reason) forgotten to get under the vehicle and rund gruond straps from the body to the frame! (under beam suspension if you will)  With the help my friend Alan KB5CUS we got the fuel pump lined out and put a strap from the metal under the driver fender well to the fram and after noting the nice drop we put another one on the rear of the vehicle to frame as well.

I STILL have a lot of noise!  ...but my main band of operation, 40m, is about an S6 to S7 so it's at least workable amongst the normal 40m noise.  Really need to get it down though.   I played with it on 20m but the noise is really strong there too, which doesn't bode well for my mobile station since 20m is usually quiet.  I have to cut my power back in hopes of getting a station I can give a good report to.

I have some not so good pictures of all of this somewhere but will have to dig them out later!
