Here is a shot of my rig from the operating position! I have a wireless FM transmitter plugged into the headphone jack that transmitts the output from the headphone jack to my car stereo! Very nice! You have to adjust sometimes for RF getting into the radio but better than a single speaker. I keep a small set of headphones by the rig so that I can operate quietly if Wendy is driving the car. (not often, heh) |
Here is a shot from the passenger door side. This is a REALLY cool mount that I am using! The Radio Shack in Decatur is privately owned and they carry a lot of CB and business band accessories. This iis a flexible mount similar to one you might see on a speaker podium for microphones except that it is much thicker and has a rubber wrap on it. I used my knee and hands to bend it to the shape I wanted. It's very stiff!! The plate where I have it screwed in can either be mounted vertically or horizontally, it has two screw in positions! I should buy a bunch of these and sell them at hamcom! :) |
Finishe distanced shot of everything installed. The mic for the 706 mounts right below the shifter. The icom 2100H 2m rig is mounted by the driver door and the mic hangs by the window. |
Icom 2100H mount. I had to reinforce the plastic where I mounted this. ALWAYS watch the underside of where you are mounting things to make sure you don't accidentally screw into wiring!! |
