Prepping the battery!

Above you can see the battery with the new terminals on the side.  These are NOT battery terminals
but terminals that I picked up at Home Depot in the electrical section no doubt intended for a circuit
breaker box.    I had to drill out the mounting hole to be large enough for the bolts.  I had bought
some of the mounting bolts made for battery side posts but they were too small for the job so wound
up using some longer bolts and nuts that I have of the same size.

Here is a closeup of the picture.  The bolts I used were TOO LONG!  So I put a nut on the bolt
and then screwed the bolt into the battery till it was tight, then tightened the nut up against the battery
terminal until it was tight!  Worked out very well!

Here is a top shot of the terminal.  As you can see it is large enough to hold a pretty good size wire.  I
went with a double (they had singles) just in case I want to put an amplfier in line later and can chain this
to a second battery in the back of the truck or something of the like.

I used Ox-Gard (I think the other brand is Nolox or something) when I connected the #8 wires to the battery terminals.  It is a compound frequently used to prevent corrosion between metals and improve conductivity between the same said metals.  Available at Home Depot / Lowes or the like.
I also use this when assembling aluminum antennas and on tower grounding!
